SUQQU is a high end brand under E’quipe (which also owns RMK, and is in turn owned by KANEBO) that is sold at a limited number of department stores in Japan. It also has counters in London and Bangkok. So far it has built a reputation for premium quality.

(Gokushi) was one of five palettes released for Autumn/Winter 2007, and is the closest thing to a purple palette that SUQQU has amidst all the greens and blues. (SUQQU seems to LOVE green! Which is why I have it. ((★・∀-)乂(・∀-★))ネ♪ It’s a great palette for winter and smokey looks, and I like using it.

I had some trouble with this palette at the start. As someone on @cosme commented, it can look potentially scary if applied unskillfully. And I usually ended up with dirty looking (or punched out) eyes. (;´Д`A ``` I think 01 想緑 (the SUQQU green) or 04 瞬墨 would have been safer options, but I like purple so I’ve had to practise. And I’m still practising…

The shadows are all softly shimmery, but the shimmer is very subtle and finely milled, nothing like JILL STUART‘s crushed diamonds and chunky shimmer. The top right brown has more shimmer than the other three shades. The grey is quite matte whilst the bottom right off-white base shade has more of a pearly finish.

Close-ups of each colour:

For some reason the colours look really different between the two! I don’t know why it looks so different on tissue…

The cement grey shade doesn’t really show up on me, but I just use it as an eyelid wash anyway. (⊃∀`* )エヘヘ♪ In general though, the pigmentation is good for a Japanese brand. (Japanese brands generally seem to favour sheerer eyeshadows.) The pigmentation level is definitely less than CLE DE PEAU (the only really pigmented one I’ve tried), and something like ARMANI Eye Mania. But they can be layered for intensity, and it’s easy to blend.

Eyeshadow texture is very, very nice! +.゚(*´∀`)b゚+. The powder is very finely milled and feels velvety. There is no dry or grainy feeling at all. It’s quite firmly pressed so there’s almost no fallout/flyaway powder. I like the texture of CPB shadows best, but this is good too. (o ̄∀ ̄)ノ”ぁぃ

The lasting power is very good. While LUNASOL usually creases on me by the end of the day, I haven’t had any fading or creasing with SUQQU. (I have very oily eyelids and always use an eyeshadow base.)

And lastly, the back of the palette (for fun) HAHA.
